Nmve m.2 in motherboard_

Hi!

Can anyone tell me if my motherboard (M5A78L-M) can support a nmve m.2 SSD? I have been looking in the internet and in the manual and could not find anything

I don't think so.

You can use something like this Asus Accessory Hyper M.2 X4 Mini Card if you have that motherboard and want to use an M.2

specs on newegg dont show an m.2 slot so no it wont work

It doesnt have an M.2 slot at all. Just get a SATA SSD as boot drive.

Sure.
Get a PCI-e adapter for M.2 (mentioned earlier will do), and use Duet or Clover software if you want to boot Windows OS from it (no UEFI on your board prevents it from booting natively).

thank you! is it worth to put a adapter to use the samsung evo 960 ssd nmve or should i get a sata 3 ssd?

are you using a discreet gpu? if so that board only has one pci-e slot so it wouldnt work. and if i remember right its kinda a pain to get older systems to boot from pci-e if the board didnt have the options in the bios

I think it's worth it if you get it for a good price 960 Evo 250GB for around 100-135...

If you are using a descreet GPU, you will be limited to PCI-e 2.0 x1 speed (which is 500MB/s in theory, so to SATA3), because your board has only one other PCIe, the x1 speed one.
