I've been fixing the electrical system in the new apartment. I have a strong suspicion that whoever worked on it before was either drunk, a complete moron or both. Aluminium core spliced with copper wire and duct tape, none of the circuit breakers make sense (bathroom connected to one of the kitchen outlets, but not the other one, which is 5cm away?!) and so on.

I don't think there's enough alcohol to make me forget the ordeal that's been going on for the past 5 days.

Unfortunately, in this case.

I took 2 days off from work for the move, but the 4 days I was hoping it would take look more like 6 days and that's without the Ethernet lines (which would take me about a day) and network configuration (that's another day of messing around with routers, switches, firewalls and so on)

I'm working on a IoT project to control and monitor parts of my fishtank. Currently I have a prototype working of a LED controller. On one side a NodeJS script is running on a raspberry Pi that connects to my VPS which is running Crossbar, a WAMP Router.

Crossbar handles messaging between all connected devices. On the other side I have soldered a breadboard to upscale a 0 to 3.3V PWM signal to 24V. The 24V comes from a dedicated power supply.

I'm still pretty new to working with and creating electronic circuits. I just recently learned the basics of MOSFET's, MOSFET gate drivers and BJT's and how to interpret their datasheets.

The prototype currently uses TIP120 transistors to switch the 24V load but I'm changing that to use power MOSFET's with a gate driver. In the end I plan to drive this from an Espruino with Wifi. Espruino is a microcontroller that runs javascript.

Short version: I'm building my own TC420 with internet connectivity.

Now that my electrocity is choochin' pixies skookumly I might start a couple small 30-min projects.

My amp is getting in my way and taking up desk space. Imma need to make myself a nice TSR/3.5 to 2xRCA since the one I have is too short (and crap. It was $.50 so yeah).

Surprisingly, my printer is ok with it being plugged into the PC via a USB A/B cable plugged into 2 USB A/A extension cables (I think it exceeds 5m at this point), which is nice since I can have it fairly hidden and out of my way.

I also need to see if I can fix the lights on my furniture unit thingy.

I have been working on changing out the electronics and hot end of my hero101 3d printer. I have 3 other real printers I'm using to print parts to adapt NEMA 17 motors. Just stuck on finding firmware to work with the sanguinololu board I have now. Also converted one of my old Dewalt drills to run off of 3c 11.1v RC batteries recently. Also many other mini projects.

I cannot seem to locate a version of marlin for that board made for a delta style printer like the one I am trying to use it on. I'm not the best with working in code and don't know how to reassign pins in the firmware to make it work on my board haha. I created a thread here about it asking people for help, but haven't accomplished much yet:P

Can't do that since there's literally no way of mounting the amp into the desk without compromising the structural integrity (monitors are fairly light, but the monitor arm is pretty heavy) or have it interfere with sitting comfort.

I need a new desk but I've spent more money on apartment repairs and maintenance than I had planned so a new desk is out of the question for quite a while

Been looking at "for parts" or "broken" lot listings. Think I found a promising one for 2 GPUs that seem to need new caps or VRMs (maybe even a reflow). It's <$10 for both so I think I might contact the guy this weekend. Would give me something to tinker and, at worst, I'd have a reference nVidia card on display

I'm currently building a pfSense firewall to attend all the media sharing around the house, mainly for HEOS playback and wi-fi AP control.

Overkill solution? You bet, but since all the parts where laying around (appart from the mobo, which came from china), its easier and cheaper to build one than to buy an expensive router.

There's only one thing holding be back, which is the SATA cable on the PSU being too short to reach the HDD, but it will be solved soon.

It's not a specific version for the board. In the config.h, you have to choose what board you have by either uncommenting the board, or putting in a number in a certain line. I can't remember it's been about four years since I had to do this :P
