Yes VGA is the Graphics cards, look for the VGA power plug slots on your PSU.

Hey!
So yesterday i bought my first ever "not-laptop" computer and used all night building it. But when it came to powering my graphics card i had one question:
The Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 arous+ which i am using has two 8-pin connectors and not two 6-pin like the PSU i have has. What do i do? I have a modular PSU so should i connect a CPU 8-pin to power the GPU?

Thanks in advance!

Never use CPU power for the GPU, what is the model and brand of your PSU?

Do not attempt to connect the CPU pins, they are keyed and will not fit (Will fry if you force, need it for CPU anyway). Could get a cheap adaptor as a temporary measure, but would probably be a good idea to buy a new one as this evidently isnt made to supply that much power.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

EVGA BQ 750w Hybrid Modular @another random person

On the spec sheet its stated that it has 3 of the 6+2 PCIE power  (8-Pins) Maybe take a second look in your PSU box for the cables.

Your 6 pin connectors likely have a 2 pin connector cable hanging on it too, which you can use in your GPU.

GPU manufacturers like to call it '8 pin', but PSU manufacturers call it 6+2 pin (8 pin is used on the motherboard).

Check your PSU manual for the 6+2 connector.
