Hey everyone. Recently I noticed that my internet was REALLY slow. Like 0.3 Mbps download speed and same thing for upload speed. I called comcast ten times and that fixed the issue for a minute. I then tried a speed test on my phone and noticed it was 20mbps !! So I realized it is only my PC so I looked up troubleshooting on the internet and found this command "netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt". I was supposed to put that in CMD administrator. And it worked! But only for the whole session, when I shut down my PC without doing the command the bad internet flows back through. I tried bitdefender, avast, malwarebytes, and none of them found any malicious software. Please help ;-;

I doubt it's a malicious program, they generally care about gobbling up your personal data asap and tanking download speed for a prolonged period would set off red flags.

The command you mentioned resets your network settings so something might be wrong with your router. What model router, modem, etc. do you have?

Oh I thought it was because I posted everywhere on yahoo answers and everyone says "Malicious software use malwarebytes"

Yahoo Answers is like Tier 0 tech support at best :)

Glasswire will help you determine what's eating the bandwidth, if anything is eating it up.

Have you made any changes to your PC or the router lately that you can think of? Trying to rule anything out :)

Thing is this used to happen before and comcast gave us this new router because they had the same suspicion. No real changes but internet goes out quite frequently and not only on my PC.

Ah, interesting.

If the internet is going in and out often then they definitely need to send a tech out and look at the line, regardless of other problems like the slow download speed. If they give you any pushback demand to speak with Tier 2 support and tell them others are having the problem and get the same run around. Basically let them know you've had everything replaced and the problem persists and demand the line be looked at or the box on the street.

Alright I'll do that. Also I used glasswire and its just the usual, google chrome, skype, and whatnot and its not even taking much. So you may be right. Thank you
