Steam Music

Hello, I'm considering buying the FireWatch Soundtrack via steam and was wondering about just how Steam works when it comes to music.

 

When I buy these tracks will I have full control over them like I do with iTunes in Finder/FileExplorer? Will I be able to move the tracks in and out of folders and transfer them to my other computers as I see fit?

Yes you can move the files however you want

From what i remember they will show up in a folder under C>Program Files> Steam> SteamApps> Common

(just like a game folder)

From what I can tell Steam does MP3 and FLAC also. 

 

Although FLAC doesn't matter to me since I'll convert it to ALAC anyway so my iPhone can play it.

there is a rumor( hopefully it's true), FLAC support is coming to IOS 11, for i phone 7/7 plus not sure about the older models.

Well it's not that important imo. With my ATH M50Xs I can't tell the difference between .ALAC and .FLAC 

 

Both are relatively uncompressed.

I ended up buying from them. I loved the game so much I would rather give the $6 to the developers directly.
