Hello, thank you in advance for your help. My goal for this build is gaming (games like civ 6, overwatch, fallout 4, and dishonored 2) on the highest settings with the ability to stream (streaming doesn't have to be on highest settings) . I don't plan on streaming often but more as a fun thing to do with friends.  Prices in USD.

The parts I already have:

I got the gtx 980ti gently used for $330 on Craigslist and I got the ssd for $130 on amazon prime day. I have a mouse, keyboard and 1080p monitor 60hz. Might upgrade to higher refresh rate in the future but I am happy with 1080p right now.

All of the other parts listed below except the ssd and gpu I still need to buy.

Questions:

Look over the part list and let me know anything that you think I should reconsider.

More specifically,

Do you think a 480gb hard drive is too small? I am concerned adding a hdd will slow me down. But the 1tb ssd wasn't on sale haha.

I don't know anything about motherboards, does the MSI - Z270-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard look good for thia build?

Is a 650w Power supply too much? The guy used to have the card said a 500w did not give him enough power to overclock. I don't plan on overclocking right away but I might later on.

If I want to run the desktop on wifi, do I need an additional component?

Always good to have a secondary drive for game storage and whatnot. The 480GB SSD will be plenty for OS and most programs and then store your games on the HDD. 650W PSU is plenty, if you don't need the power it doesn't get used :)

Edit:

Can swap the NEX 650W for a V650 from Cooler Master if you want a better build quality PSU. The NEX is rated as Tier 3 but the V650 is Tier 1 (higher quality) but the prices are within $1 of each other so it's up to you. I think you're good either way but just giving you options :)

I took your suggestions and tweaked the build list.

I have never used a Ryzen system before, do they hold up over time?

Yah, they are great overall chips. If you're focus is like 99% gaming then you'll want to go for the 7700K but if you want good streaming, editing, and all around performance then definitely go with Ryzen.

The difference between the 1600 and 1600X is minimal and they both overclock about the same so if you want to save a little money you can go for the 1600. Otherwise, looks great :)

I would ask, why the CD drive?
