First Question: i have first pc which is AMD 8320 at 4.4 stable and 980.  Is it sensible that I want to put a 295x2 in place of 980, call my true AMD build, and move to next build.

Question 2: with all ryzen considerations is the 7700k still king of gaming? I want to do an intel build but the intel build is really to be high refresh rate gaming.

I don't have a budget in mind. My first build started with $20 craigslist Nvidia gpu then r7 370 now 980 and possibly 295x2. I am more looking for advice in CPU to build around for high refresh rate gaming. And can 8320 even benefit from upgrade to 295x2 vs now on 980.

In advance thanks for replies, this forum is great helped with first build a great amount shout out to all.

you wont see a performance difference if you upgrade unless you are playing at higher resolutions like 1440p or 4k and even then its hard to say if ti would make much of a difference. as far as gaming is concerned the 7700k is still king of gaming while the r5 1600 is the king of value.

hardware unboxed recently did a test of 30 games and showed the performance of both the r5 1600 and the i7 7700k that could give you a little insight as to what you want to upgrade to for your next cpu. here is the averages of all the test at 1080p
