I'm embarrassed to say this but my dad needs dvd writer because he has a quadrilion cds and he wants me to find the highest quality cd writer//reader for him

Why does he actually need to use a DVD writer? Just because he's got a ton of (I assume) blank CD's lying around, doesn't mean he needs to actually use them. What's he going to use them for?

As for a good DVD Writer? Pretty much any of them. LG used to be the go-to DVD Writer for like, at least a decade, but Pioneer or any of the other major brands will do just fine.

If I were buying a DVD Writer these days, as @AshleyAshes mentions, I'd look for one with LightScribe and M-DISC support. Might as well get one that can do it all - probably a negligible price difference.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

I have a BDRW drive, I got it years ago, It's never even burned a single BDR disc.  I literally have no idea if the function works on the drive or not.  I'm not even sure if I've ever used it to burn a DVDR disc either.

I really don't understand what you mean here. He wants to "burn his CD's to iTunes"... you've either mixed up your statement, or you've used incorrect terms.

Does he want to RIP his legally purchased Music CD's into iTunes, and thus create MP3's from this CD collection? If so, literally pointless to use blank CD's.

Does he want to burn his iTunes collection to CD? Why? For what purpose? What's he using the burned CD's for afterwards? All of those iTunes music purchases (unless he bought them like a decade ago) are DRM free anyway, so he can copy the MP3 or AAC files to other devices or use them on his Smartphone or a digital music player, etc.

@AshleyAshes when I jumped into Blu-Ray SATA drives, Burners were still too expensive, so I picked up a (for the time) really nice BD reader (It's also a DVD writer I believe). If I were to buy one today though, I'd get a BD-Writer just for the hell of it. I too don't think I've ever burned a disc on it at all. I've burned the occasional ISO at work for stubborn computers that didn't want to play nice with a bootable USB, but I haven't burned a disc at home for ages.

I think my Fiancee burned a CD for school - she used a CD-RW (and re-used it) to burn music tracks to practice singing in the car on the way to the College.
