Hi...

I'm new to linustechtips forum...

I'm gonna build a PC for first time... So I got some components & just want to make sure that will all this workout...

Here are the components: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nsn6tJ

Even though there are no issues/incompatibilities found, I would like to if that's right... Please make sure what I chose is right or wrong...

Here are a few suggestions I have for you (and some questions too).

- I assume since you don't have a case on that list you have bought one already or have one on hand?

- Get a better PSU. That isn't a bad PSU, I just personally would spend the extra few bucks for a better rated PSU.

- The i5 is a dead CPU at the moment. Ryzen 5 is a much better option.

- That GPU is overpriced. Either wait until GPU prices drop or look for a cheaper option.

It looks like everything should be compatible there.

Judging by some of the other parts (only one RAM stick, for example), it looks like you have a limited budget. You might want to get a lower tier of motherboard, because that one seems like it has a lot of features that you may not need.

Why? Ryzen performs better

Ryzen is meagre at overclocking, and maybe he wants high single core performance (note how he picked an overclockable i5 and motherboard with a cooler that has some headroom).

But it will be better at other tasks as well

Your build doesn't look bad, but keep in mind that any mid-range GPU is hard to come by at the moment, and is going to be very expensive if you do manage to find one.

The GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are easier on your wallet, even though they don't perform nearly as well as a 1060.

I agree 100% that's why I gave him Ryzen 5 1600, a better PSU, and just manually entered the price of the 1060 to $250 which is what it will be when the mining craze is over.

Really if you want an Intel processor get one, sure Ryzen is great but 5GHz is pretty tempting too. I'm pretty happy with my i7 7700K at 5-5.2GHz turbo ranges, it blows a lot away.

Yours faithfully

Seriously? Tell me what you researched. Intel charges so much for their CPUs, They have less cores. You're going to save so much with AMD.

Well your searches were wrong sir. The 1600 is faster than i5s. i5s are dead, now i7s are still relevant, but the 1600 will kill i5s is most tasks

I've never heard of someone getting a 7600K to 5ghz. If he were getting a 7700K then that would be fine, but i5s are bested now by the 1600

Ryzen 5 is better then the i5 in basically everything. The only thing it is not always better in are a select few games.

Look man, you're either going have to choose Ryzen R5 or deal with everyone telling you not to. No one here's going to be convinced by ONE person achieving 5GHz on a CUSTOM LOOP, I doubt there will be any substantial evidence that could change our minds that we haven't found.
