Dual monitors performance decrease

I'm planning to get dual monitors one with 1080p res and other 1440p. Im planning to game on the 1440p monitor. Will  it affect fps?

adding an additional display adds some amount of load to the GPU, its usually very minimal.

1 fps or less basically

 

im pretty sure most gpus by 2005 could do 2x displays without lagging like crazy

Almost no difference. The only thing that may happen is it takes up a chunk of VRAM. But if this is a problem, you probably have too little VRAM.

Even if you have video running on 2nd screen, nothing special. Only where there would be some, is when game is running on both.
