Linus said that if he hadn't used the R9 Nano, so would he not have been able to remove the GPUs.

Is that true or is it a way to remove the GPUs, when you cant get to the clips?

I can change the GPU blocks, so the connectors are on top or something like that, but it would add a lot more fittings.

Yes, I'm planning 7 GPUs, as 3D rendering benefits from all the power I can throw at it.

I have already paid for a custom case, so changing to a server case is out of the question.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

Just get something long and not pointy to unhook the clip incase screwdriver or something slips and cuts traces on motherboard. unhook and wiggle.

Isn't too difficult.

Depending on the PCIe slot, you can remove the latch from the board without permanently damaging it.

Alternatively, use a screwdriver to undo the latches.

You could saw off the locks on the GPUs as well.

Xeon e5649@4.4 GHz on Asus Rampage II Extreme or Gigabyte x58a-OC (whatever I feel like to set up at a time) , 6x4 GB Kingston HyperX 1600, Gainward GTX 670 Phantom, Samsung 840 Evo 240 GB, BeQuiet L8 530W

Yeah, because removing warranty is also such a good idea.

Can I reach all the clips with that method?

yeah. just press them down and lift the GPU slightly until it clears the clip and wiggle them free.
