It depends on what model you are going for.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Depends on the model, and the use.

For workstation, editing, rendering, whatelse a Ryzen 5 or 7 is on par or better than a i7 in most cases.

For gaming, is on par or slightly less than an i5/i7 at 1080p paired with a top-tier gpu, while it's the same on mainstream or high end cases or even better many times at 4K.

Ryzen 5 is great because while its almost identical to i5 in gaming, it has more cores, and therefore more future proofing, and it costs much less.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Stronger in what? Gaming? Video rendering?

R5 1600 is better than i5 7600k in almost all task, gaming wise has better minimum framerate and with extra 2 cores and 8 threads it is superbly better in productivity

i7 is a different story. gaming wise an i7 is better than a R5 (even the non K) but for productivity it might or might not trade blow

If its between those 2 i would say the 7500 wins.

Price to performance is lower on the 7500.

But if we are talking for gaming only it doesn't matter. They perform almost the same.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

However if you want to stream while gaming i would go with the 1500 since it has more threads.

Basically in my opinion currently in the mid-range R5 is better than i5, at the high end it depends on the task and how much you are spending. At the very highest of high end until Threadripper actually comes out Intel still has the edge but with TR only a few weeks or a month out that will not last very long.

In the i7 7700k with high end graphics card range it depends on what you are doing. If you are pure gaming then an overclocked 7700k is still the best match for a high end graphics card (i.e., 1080Ti or Titan Xp). However if you are streaming gaming while streaming then an overclocked R7 1700 or 1800X would be the best, unless you want to throw insane $$ at the problem then you wait and get an R9 or i9 along with the highend motherboard and memory that goes with it.
