There's an after market air cooler but it's a tri fan setup so you have to have room for it but depends on your graphics card and water cooling is expensive but rewarding

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

There are air coolers (Arctic make some), but compatibility depends on the PCB design (If its custom or reference).

Edit: Could just buy a AIO and Kraken G10, dont need a custom loop to have water cooling.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

I took the card apart my 1080 earlier and plopped some new Arctic MX-4 thermal paste on and it didn't make much of a difference, if at all :/

Which 1080

What was maxiumum temps?

The first 1080 ftw. Back when there was the vrm cooling issue EVGA sent me a little strip of heat spreaders thermal pads or whatever and I put them on, but I've just always been unhappy with how the card cools. With the fans pinned at 100% the temps can still climb past 75c. It's been like this for almost a year. I guess I will have to build a custom loop to be satisfied. I;m worried that arctic cooler won't fit.

Well, I have folded it quite a bit and I picked up mining a few weeks ago. I don't have any issues, I just hate that the card gets close to 80 degrees. When gaming the card has always been high 60's aswell with an aggressive fan curve. I bought a 6GB 1060 and that card pinned at 100 usage stays under 60c no problem with like 60% fan. Relative to the 1080, it feels like the 1060 fans move twice as much air.

Whoah whoah whoah that's not right. My ASUS Strix 1080s goes down to 54C when fans are 100%. And they are in SLI.

You could save $40 and go for the regular H100i v2, it shouldn't make much of a difference.

I love computers, electronics, audio equipment, games, art (digital/traditional), and programming.

It has always been like this. I remember playing BF1 3 days before public release and the card was over 65 degrees C pretty often with a normal fan curve. It could be the fact that I live near the gulf coast. RH inside every building is 30%-45%, 99% humidity outside virtually all year. Ambient temperatures are 76-78F.

The H100iv2 is a better deal, but it's not a 280 rad. I have 2 140mm static pressure noctua fans I want to use on the rad. I think I will go with a thermaltake 280mm AIO, but have not decided. I'm not finding last gen 280 rads that much cheaper.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071R2P8M3/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Compatible coolers with the bracket:

Kraken X60, Kraken X40 Corsair : H105, H110, H90, H75, H55 , H50 Antec : KUHLER H2O 920V4, KUHLER H2O 620V4, KUHLER H2O 920, KUHLER H2O 620 Thermaltake : Water 3.0 Extreme, Water 3.0 Pro, Water 3.0 Performer, Water 2.0 Extreme, Water 2.0 Pro, Water 2.0 Performer Zalman : LQ-320, LQ-315, LQ-310

(but I am sure as long as they look similar then they will fit, becasue it's not up to date. For example the kraken X61 and x62 fit)
