Closed-back headphones with detachable cable

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a closed-back headphone, preferably with a detachable cable.

I use my current headphones everyday so I don't mind spending a bit. 200 euro (around 230 dollar) seems like a reasonable budget. I saw the Dt770 pro but it has no removable cable but radiostations in Belgium use it so it should be quite durable? Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

Laptops: Acer VN7-592G (I5-6300HQ, 960m), Lenovo P43s

Phones: LG V30, Samsung S10

Speakers: 2 ALR Jordan 3M's (120W each)

Amplifier: SMSL SA-98E

Headphones: Sony WH-1000XM3, Sennheiser Momentum

What do you use your headphones for(mixing/gaming/mobile)? What is source audio? Do you use an amplifier or have proper onboard audio? Why do you need a detachable cable? Here are some closed with detachable cable, can narrow down later: fostex t50rp mk3/ath-m40x/vmoda crossfade lp2

the new version of those headphones the 1770 pro have removable cables. But they are like double the price but they are super good.

The DT770 has a popular detachable cable mod; if you're able to buy used, you should be able to find one with a detachable cable pretty easily. The things are really sturdy and pads can be washed/swapped so there isn't really a downside to going that route.

What sorts of music do you listen to?

I have no amp but i'm willing to buy one. I listen to litteraly everything: hiphop, metal, hard rock, classical etc. I mostly use them for gaming and just listening at home. When not at home I'll use my smaller Marshall headphones.

The detachable cable is mainly because it is the first thing that breaks on most of my headphones.

You can also take a look at AKG K271. They are the studio closed back standard for years and have detachable cable.

Also, DT770s and DT990s are made so the cable can be relatively easily swapped if needed (if you have soldering iron), but having a detachable is much better solution.
