Alienware amplifier compatibility

Ok so I bought a Alienware amplifer and now I want it get a 1080. 

Problem, only one available in the near best buy is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce OC which is 280mm compared to 265mm recommended length

The Dell support guy told me it was fine, I just want a second opinion before spending so much

If it can't fit, just run it without the cover on. The eGPU is just gonna sit on your desk anyways.

Just measure the inside of it with a tape measure or something.

if you already *have* the amplifier, measure the inside.

it'd fit. i have a titan xp in mine and the case is much longer.

 

i hate the amplifier disabling the onboard gpu when used.

Remember though, the amplifier is designed for reference "blower" style cards.

So that the hot air from the card blows out the back, rather than into the amps housing!
