Ryzen Cant Install OS. Pls Help. :'(

I bought a new R5 1600, MSI B350M Mortar Arctic & Geil Super Luce White 16GB.

 

I plugged in my SSD, and created bootable flash drive Win10. And it always freezes with that exact moment with the three dots.

 

I tried the flash drive on my Haswell and it works fine. Pls help me. I'm a college student that has a tight sched, I cant troubleshoot this forever. :'(

Try a different usb flash drive or usb port. Use a 2.0 port. Install from disc

Do you have another PC, you could put the SSD in that and install the OS and then move it. it shouldnt brick it, ive done it before

That could lead to serious driver issues, especially when moving from Intel to AMD or something.

I somehow figured it out..

 

I tried 1 ramstick and didnt work. Exchanged the RAM stick with the second and it worked. How likely it is that this new RAM is bad? Or are they just incompatible with Ryzen?

I did it before it was intel to intel. However, windows should be smart enough to find some basic drivers and then you can install others from there

Run Memtest and see if it has issues.

In most cases it would work, but it's not guaranteed, and even if it does, Windows can have some super weird issues. I've seen that a lot before.

You sure you have the right DIMMs populated?

Running the ram at stock 2133?

Bad ram, then return it. Sometimes it will take a long time to respond like 5 minutes or more at that screen.

Not entirely true.

I've done it before, moving from AMD to Intel to AMD and back to Intel (was troubleshooting a couple of builds, used an install made on my FX build that worked fine on Skylake, Ryzen and Kaby Lake, in that order).

Not always. I've had bad experiences with it sometimes, even from Intel to Intel.

I'm just saying that it doesn't ALWAYS work. I've seen it not work, even from Intel to Intel with the same processor, just a different motherboard.

It worked for me. When i built my system i just transferred the old SSD to my new system the only thing that didnt work is the video card driver and it reverted to windows basic display adapter. however I was able to go install my new one

the only thing that didnt wor for me was the display driver. It reverted to windows basic display adapter. I was then able to install the proper driver

Components can be faulty or DOA more often than you would think. it just happens. It can happen from any brand on any component. if you beleive you have faulty brand-new hardware, then contact whoever you bought it from (whoever your warranty is with) and talk to them about a replacement.

Sounds about right.

That's why I use barebones/fresh installs when troubleshooting. Less things that can go wrong

I would mark this post as the solution. A lot of people looking through can easily miss this post and still try to help you even though you fixed it.

try reflashing the usb or trying a different one
