It's a workstation/office

if it's a workstation PC, which can use multiple threads get ryzen, it will bet better, but out of intrest what kind of workstation use, as your saying you don't need ryzen, cause it could be possible you are correct but it's also entirely possible ryzen will be better for you

Don't get a 1080Ti, since it's a ws build but I really suggest you to go with Ryzen 7 1700

maybe the 12 core threadripper, sure that could be fitted into the budget, but yea your right the 1080ti probably not worth it, that being said some workstation programmes could use the 1080tis power, but not many

You could save yourself about 100aud if you bought a windows 10 professional  oem key online. A highly trusted website sells them for like 37aud (can't tell you the website because of forum advertising rule). Many reputable youtubers have recommended it if you want to do your own research. With the extra money I'd recommend selling your current cpu and buying a ryzen 1700. I'd also recommend chosing the supernova g2 instead of the nex version as it is a much better power supply. If your willing to wait vega might also be a good option as it's hinted to have great price to performance (plus nvidia may drop their prices a little when vega is released)
