Planning a build, any thoughts?

IAmAkiro

I will start by saying I have around 889 dollars (Converted currency)

What I don't need:

  1. SSD
  2. HDD
  3. Graphics Card
  4. Power supply

So yeah I need:

  1. Case
  2. CPU
  3. Motherboard
  4. Ram
  5. Cooler

So I have already found a great case I would like

Corsair Carbide Clear 400C

Intel Core i7 7700k

Ram: CMK16GX4M4A2400C14

And MSI Z270-A PR

I am not sure about what cooler I should get, also I won't mind if i can find a cheaper case with same or better airflow :)

Aynone who can help me the last bit?

How far do you wish to overclock? This will ultimately decide your CPU cooler choice.

If you're looking for base/ +100MHz cooling, you'll want air, but if you're trying for 4.8, 4.9 5.0 GHz - AIOs should be a consideration

I prefer to stay at Intel :)

Why?  AMD does offer better value right now.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

Depends on what hes doing really. Intel is still the best gaming CPU (for example)

Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Corsair H105, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite, Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3600MHz, EVGA RTX 3070Ti FTW3, Samsung 850 Pro / WD SN850 / OCZ Trion 150

ASUS MG279Q, Corsair Carbide 275R

I wish to get at least 4.7-4.8

But I as you see don't have much to spend on the cooler, but i have looked at these:

Corsair Hydro Series H75 or Cooler Master Seidon 240V

The i7-7700K is still the fastest CPU in the market, maybe OP just values this more, value is only relative to how much the user will make use of it and in this case 4 core speed on this chip cannot be matched, and to give Intel a break, it isn't the *worst* value product they make, in fact it's quite good. (I'd still go AMD myself but OP has already decided.)

If you are streaming, did you take any consideration for Ryzen 7? Or is it not frequent enough that you still prefer 4 core intel?

I prefer the Intel but I don't think it will take much of my time, also I will be getting a capture card though :)

If it's only rare that you stream and you have a capture card, I guess you'll be fine sticking with the 7700K

For your cooler, do looks matter? Your case choice seems to me that it does, in which case an AIO 240/280 Cooler would be best, especially for 4.8GHz+ overclocks
