I just got a 212 EVO for my second PC and it doesn't fit normally because of my high profile RAM. And i can't flip the fan around to the other side and make it pull air thru the cooler because the other side of the fan has fan holes but not screw threads.

Was just wondering if there is something i can do about it or if it works well having it this way: http://imgur.com/a/i03uX (having it that way makes it clear the RAM)

Yeah non-LPX vengeance could indeed cause clearance issues. It's one of the reasons I dropped air coolers for now. Also, since it's just a snap-on fan, you should be able to pry it off one side at a time and move the fan over to the other side as a quick fix. I mean, sure it will be pushing through the fins from the other side, but it sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle anyway.

But then it would push the air to the front of the case or am i stupid?

That will work. Fan may spin a tad faster but the difference should be barely noticeable.

Just picked up some old RAM i had lying around.

Found 2x4GB DDR3 elixir 1600MHz and 2x4GB DDR3 Crucial ballistix sport 1600MHz. Can i use one of them as a replacement for one of the 4 Corsair RAM that was closest to the 212 evo?

The fan can be reversed and installed on the other side.

How? The fan screws on the other side of the fan does not have screw threads in them.

Threads are created when you secure it with them screws.

It felt like the fan was gonna break when i tried screwing a screw in that way so.. I guess i can try again

Like others said, just flip the fan on the bracket to the other side of the fan and put the fan on the other side of the cooler. Simple fix.

I did..? It is that simple. The fans holes do not need to be pre-threaded. They will get threads in them when you screw the bracket onto that side, it won't break it. It may feel fairly tight when screwing into the fan holes that haven't been used before because the screw threads are digging into the plastic (which is good). And by putting your fan on the other side of the heat sync you should have plenty of room for your RAM.

Just got done installing the 212 evo, took way too long. it took like 2 hours screwing the fans to the mounts lol...

Gonna start it now and see if it was worth it.

I have now booted it up and the fan speed on the 212 evo is very high for some reason. Even in bios it goes from 1650 to 1710 RPM at 40C

And i have a chassi fan pretty close behind it, maybe that's what is causing it?

Rear fan doesn't have any effect on how fast heatsink fan is spinning. You might remove it for better airflow. Anyway, CPU fan speed is controller by header its on, CPU temps and generally BIOS. So look into settings if you have some turbo setting on. And what options you have with controlling fan in general.
