First Gaming PC

1. Budget & Location

$1000 US flexible up to 1200.

2. Aim

The main games I play are Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Borderlands 2.  I would like to play them on max settings, while also being able to handle any light to mid-high productivity needs for various college courses.  I want this computer to last for ~3-4 years until I can finish school and settle into a decent job.

3. Monitors

I currently have one 1940x1080 monitor.  I havent decided whether or not I will upgrade it or get a second one. If I do, 2560x1440 is as high as I would need it to go,

4. Peripherals

I am in the market for a new keyboard and mouse.  Budget would probably be 100-125 for both, but is flexible depending on sales and things like that.  I will need an OS as well and windows 10 is the one I've been looking at.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I have been gaming on a pretty mediocre laptop for the last 2 years and I have finally saved enough to comfortably build a decent PC.  Here is what ive managed to put together so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/weduvall5/saved/6prP6h

I would appreciate any advice and/or guidance on the matter. Thanks.

I put a build together that focuses on build quality and value; BUT I chose the cheapest graphics card available. Why? Because currently, graphics card prices are skyhigh, due to cryptocurrency (bitcoin, ethereum etc.) miners, that buy up stocks left and right. The moment price drop to a normal level, get a gtx 1070, which should push the price of this entire build to about 1200. :)

Allocate 350 rn for a 1070. Its a very bad time to buy anything midrange so you can wait a month.

Use ryzeb 1600 amd stock cooler.

S340 or p400 for case. You can get the better versions of the case such as s340 elite or p400s tempered glass.

You can get a seasonic m12II evo or s12II evo. I dont know much about psus so you can get another one. I am loving m12II evo.

get 2 be quiet silent wings 3 140mm fans. Very wuiet. Practically silent

motherboards-b350 is enough if you dont want sli lr crossfire. Im ny opinion asus and gigabyte motherboards are the best. Asus is probably better. Asrock is also very good.

Get a 1 or 2 tb wd black or blue or a barracuda.

get a 250gb samsung 850 evo or if you would kike other better parts get a mx300.

ram- 16gb g.skill and corsair have good ram. G.skill has very good deals.

windows 10 is basically your only pption 100dollars.
