Hey I want some help some of my friends have low FPS in game like and battlefield 1 with high CPU usage( one friends with i5 6600+gtx970) and sometimes low ( i7 4790k+GTX 1080) sometimes below 60 FPS .

my question is how to make logical almost certain tests to know where is the problem any CPU tests or benchmarks that will tell where is the problem cuz I don't want to advise them to buy CPU which requires a lot of money with new MB and Ram in case of ryzen then to find the same problem please help .

So many people complains about PUBG and I think it is because game is on early access

Is it a fps problem or a ping problem in BF1 , how good is your internet connection?

I play PUBG on my ( 5820K+980ti)  no single crash forget PUBG it's early access anyway BF1 both of my friends have very sold connections better than me they have fibers 200MB and better ping than mine so connection is very good

That i7 would probably be a bit of a bottleneck.

game fall sometimes below 60 FPS I get it if he was aiming for 144hz monitor he just wants 60+ FPS . I don't get his problem his CPU shouldn't be bottleneck as much even consoles in 40ish FPS

it's an early access game, not much you can do other than wait.

Run a lower resolution like 1080p or even 720p in your chosen game.... then turn the settings down, all of them, as far as they can go. take note of your framerates. then put your settings up, as high as you like to play, then monitor your framerates.

if you experience a massive change in fps from low settings to high/ultra settings, then your issue lies with a weaker GPU. If you experience minimal to no change, then your issue lies with your CPU/platform. It would also be useful to monitor CPU/GPU load %'s during these tests in order to see what is being utilized and what is not.

my question is how to make logical almost certain tests to know where is the problem any CPU tests or benchmarks that will tell where is the problem You can be sure about where does come the bottleneck just watching the utilization %. If your GPU is at 99~100% usage then it's all gucci. If your GPU is below 90% pay close attention to your CPU. If ANY core is at 85%+ then it is a CPU bottleneck. Let me throw an example. Far cry 4, GTX1070 and 5820K @4.0Ghz (my build). FC4 has serious CPU bottleneck. One thread is 98% while the others fap themselves to death. GPU usage go as low as 60% utilization. So... 5820K is a slow CPU? Not at all. The game relies heavily on one thread only, so most CPUs bottleneck the GPU in this game. Would i change my 5820K just because FC4 has bottleneck in CPU side? Hell no. This example shows that not every CPU bottleneck mean you should change your CPU... When should you recommend a change? When you see consistently every thread you have at 85%+ usage. That means the CPU is giving all it can, but in the end it doesn't even matter ♪♫. Seriously, if your CPU is 85%+ and your GPU is below 90% that is a CPU bottleneck, and only there would you ever consider changing the platform and or the CPU. cuz I don't want to advise them to buy CPU which requires a lot of money with new MB and Ram in case of ryzen then to find the same problem please help . You don't need a lot of money. You need a lot of Megahertz. Today you can't go further than a 7700K @ 5Ghz. Won't happen in the big 99% of games. So if you want to suggest a change, tell them o buy a 7700K and overclock the living hell out of the chip. An AIO is advised, H115i best choice to keep that CPU in bearable temperatures. No Ryzen CPU nor X99 CPU will ever touch the maximum FPS a 7700K@4.8~5.0Ghz can archive -TODAY-. (cant leap into the future to tell you what will happen to gaming industry)
