Cleaning Mousepads

Go to solution Solved by treeroy,

I tend to just buy a new one, usually get through one a year. But they're so cheap that I don't really care enough to give them a good clean. I just bought a 90cm wide mousemat for £15.

is it advisable to hand wash a mousepad? i'm using a Steelseries qck+ NIP edition and it's been with me for about 2 years now.. i want to wash it cuz its the only part of my setup i haven't cleaned yet haha i'm asking first before washing it because the qck+ doesn't have stitched edges so, is it gonna peel right off when i try to wash it with a very small amount of detergent and a small brush?

I have never washed a mousepad. Mousepads I have owned in the past have had edges that peel off after a while. I imagine any detergent (soap) would cause peeliing. I think you should just wipe it with water & spit. Mousepads are really cheap. You can buy a sheet of mousepad material off aliexpress. You can actually cover your desk in mousepad material for a few dollars

mine's peeling a bit so i think i should just use normal water or maybe alcohol and brush some of the dark parts lol.. my palms get so sweaty sometimes and i wipe the sweat of my palms with my mousepad sometimes haha

I clean them with some like warm water (only the top and I have braided edges, so not the sides).

After that I let them dry on their own (so no machine washing or drying, can't imagine that is good for the rubber-y bottom
