For quite some time now people have been telling builders to hold off on buying GPUs because of the mining craze... do we have any idea or at least an estimate as to when this will die down?

thats the problem with cryptocurrency, they are extremely volatile, they could become profitless in a week, or in 4 months. We had no idea, and its borderline impossible to accurately say when the crash with come

Concerning ethereum, however... it's on its way down right now. Considering it's also going to get an algorithm change in the near future (next month apparently) which will make it easier to mine, I wouldn't be surprised if cards came back in stock around then.

You see, when there are more ASICs, it becomes comparibally harder to mine bitcoin, meaning after a while mining withs Graphics Cards will be a bad idea.  I've been mining for around five years and I'm buying an ASIC now.

My parents dont give me any money, so my dads loaning me money to buy an asic, then I'll be making 10 dollars a day.
