I'm looking for a USB hub to plug into my computer, that I want to attach to the bottom of my desk. Mainly I need it to have an SD card reader. Also, if I have an ASUS motherboard with fast charge would it work through the hub or would I need to get a special hub that has its own fast charge? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

"fast charge" is just a marketing buzzword for usb ports that can handle more amperes than regular usb ports allow. (official specs for usb 2 = 0.5 A max / usb 3 = 0.9 A max while phone chargers output up to 2.5 A)

look for a powered usb hub that has a high ampere rating on the ports and you should be good

I realize that, just easier to say fast charge then a high ampere rating. But thanks anyway!
