Combining a file and print server

I've got a spare desktop that I want to repurpose as both a file and print server. Now I've seen solutions like FreeNAS but I'm struggling to find a solution that covers both file storage and sharing printers (freeNAS might do it but i've probably not looked hard enough).

 

Any suggestions on what i can do here? We have a mix of Windows and OSX based computers in the office so need to support both types.

you can do it with linux easily if you don't mind a little configuration. It will use samba for file and print sharing so it will work fine with windwos and osx. Also many premade nas units like the qnap ones will let you make a print server.
