How far should/could I let my 1060 push itself before it can do damage to itself?

It hit 2063mhz @ a max temperature of 68c without ever getting noisy, google has showed me numbers all over the place so I'm not sure if this is decent or not.

It's sitting in a fractal nano s.

65-70C is average for a GTX 1060, unless your hitting 85C, your good.

Ryzen 5 3600 | MSI B450 PRO CARBON AC | EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER XC ULTRA |
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Black Edition | Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x8GB 3200MHz |
Phaneks Evolv Tempered Glass | Seasonic FOCUS Gold+ 750W |
Samsung 960 EVO 250GB | 860 EVO 500GB | 850 PRO 256GB | Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM

Your temps are fine, nothing to worry about. Mine goes all the way up to 83C (pre-defined temp limit, and temps recorded under synthetic load) without an OC, simply because my case lacks airflow, and the cooler on the card sucks!

But... for those that might wonder, my peak temperatures are totally fine, these cards are rated to like 92C

The gpu is supposed to start throttling until the gpu starts to reach 80 degrees Celsius. As long as you don't start getting into the 80s you should be fine.

I don't think you understand how GPU boost 3.0 works, so what you said, isn't correct.

Yes I do understand how it works. Technically it is 83 degrees Celsius but idk what you are referring to anyways.

The card throttles at MUCH lower temps than 83C, try 50C. It throttles back from the maximum OC it allows at every jump of 10C, and the card could care less whether your peak temp is in the mid 90's overall too... So yeah, that's what I'm talking about!

What are you even talking about? I mean actually throttling as in the core clock goes down from where it was. I see that you must be one of those people who doesn't argue often but when you do it's about semantics lol.

If you want to talk about something that is relevant to this thread but if you just like to argue about pointless stuff then you can stop.

Yeah, the clock goes down as temps increase by 10C! My card does 2012Mhz out of the box under 50C, then downclocks at 60C, 70C, etc, that's how it works!

Also, check the attitude, it is not appreciated!

Well if you want to argue about something that is going to help op then be my guest but you clearly were just trying to argue which I don't really appreciate. You can say I have a bad attitude but your the one who started this whole conversation with a bad attitude so don't go blaming me. I just want to help op and don't like dealing with people who are not help with that. I was talking about how the gpu starts to actually throttle hard when it hits 83 degrees Celsius and you just had to go and start an argument about that for what purpose? Actually don't answer that question because it really doesn't matter. Let's just agree that this conversation isn't productive and helpful to anyone. I'm sorry if I came off wrong I just don't want to get off topic.
