Ram speed question

I know that on B150 and B250 motherboards ram speed is limited to 2133 and 2400MHz but is there any chance that on z170 motherboard and i5-7400 cpu it will work at higher frequencies for example 3000MHz ?

yes it absolutely will...if you get a Z170 motherboard then you can do memory overclocking/XMP profile all that jazz.

no it's the motherboard chipset.
