Getting stuck in a loop while trying to install

While trying to reinstall Windows after a Linux trial, it will go through the Loading Files then up to the windows logo and the spinning circle, then reboot. I have tried installing xp to 10 and the sever editions in between and I get about as far. I have installed xp,7,8,& 10 successfully before. Any ideas on why it's doing this? This is on a Dell prebuilt machine

start over

With the install process again?

When it starts again there is a small icon on the bottom right that you can click to shut down or restart.

When it shuts down or restarts you need to unplug your USB or remove the disk that you're installing windows from, and so that it can boot from your drive instead which now has windows on it.

So you haven't installed windows at all yet?

Have you unplugged all devices except keyboard mouse and display?

Have you unplugged all drives except the drive you want to install on?

Ok I would try using a different USB drive and reloading windows onto it.

Just to confirm, this is the tool that you use to make the USB right: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

In BIOS first I would load optimized defaults, then you should be able to see your USB drive and set it to first priority in the boot order.

You should also be able to see the one drive you have connected to the system there.
