Screen has red pixels everywhere Help!

Go to solution Solved by StrawberryJamSlam,

After much trouble shooting I have figured out that the problem is one of my dvi ports on my gpu. Sadly this was the only one that supported 144hz.

Hi for the past few weeks my main monitor will sometimes go crazy and have red pixels on it and not look normal. I suspect the problem is gpu sag since I have been able to fix it for short lengths of time by propping up my gpu or straight up slapping my case for it to reseat properly ish. Any ideas on what the problem is or how I could fix it?

PS. I have observed that it only happens on my primary monitor (BenQ 144hz plugged in by dvi-d) and not my secondary monitor (Normal Samsung monitor connected via HDMI).

Try a different connection on the screen. I have a screen at work that does something similar to this (but not as bad), but only through its HDMI.

Do you have any connection issues too?

Connect the other monitor with the DVI cable used for the BenQ if possible, that way you can see if it's a monitor issue or GPU issue.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I tried using HDMI on my BenQ and it worked fine but I was not able to try the DVI on my Samsung since it only has HDMI and VGA. I also tried the original DVI that came with the BenQ which I had to replace cause it was doing the same thing but would stop if I moved the cable which doesn't happen with this one.
