I've been thinking of buying premium because I want to play new maps. However many people say that the dlc maps are unpopulated since premium divides the community, which is one of the reasons im hesitant on supporting premium by purchasing it. With that in mind I still want to buy premium for my own experience and was hoping to hear your opinion on whether the premium pass is actually worth it or not. Thanks

I can still usually find a DLC map if I want to (as long as it's Conquest, DLC Operations seem to be totally over). It's also worth mentioning that on official servers, map rotations are either core maps, or DLC maps, never mixed. You queue for each separately. That's super annoying and probably hurts the population playing DLC content.

You can buy each DLC individually, after it releases, if you want. Premium may be slightly less money than buying ALL of the DLC individually (regional pricing differs, so I can't say for sure), but it's undoubtedly a worse deal if you decide to skip any. Given how long BF1 is taking to get DLC, the final few may be so far away that I'm not certain I'll even still be playing by then.

Would you say its worth it to buy they shall not pass by itself then? Because I see what you mean with how slow the DLC is releasing. The fourth dlc will be here in forever and I may not play then either

Meh, I dont think its really worth it.

Long time BF fan here and I have played every single title extensively -> thus I have also bought BF1 premium before the game even launched. The game has rapidly begun to get boring and I rarely play anymore. The DLC's are far too spread apart, the content leaves alot to be desired and the playerbase is dwindling.

In your situation I would just buy the DLC's which seem interesting to you seperately -> this is what I would have done in retrospect.

For me, that ultimately comes down to the guns the DLCs add, since those can never really be "dead" content. And there are some pretty cool weapons in that DLC.

As I said though, I can still get games on DLC maps as long as they're running Conquest. I wouldn't say they're dead yet. And the new CTE maps they're adding seem to require the DLC as well. Currently they've added Nivelle Nights, making a total of 5 maps for that DLC, and I think there's another currently in testing that may or may not make it to live.

The fact that that is even possible is one of the biggest reasons I hate EA. Arranging a payment plan for their game on top of the purchase of the base game before any future content is out so you have no idea what you are buying. The stuff that does become available soon after launch clearly could have been included in the base game but got gated behind a purchase. Its so scummy and I hate it, shame EA own some of my favourite franchises, I literally get to watch my favourite games die... R.I.P Mass effect.

All I can say in EA's defense is that they're not the only, or even the worst, in that regard. Not that that's high praise.

And remember, they want you to pre-order that. Preferably all of that.

Edit: That last one is $799.99, just in case anyone was looking for the world's dumbest place to dump most of the cost of a new PC. :P

And me the idiot falls for it every time haha

I dont really feel bad since I know to almost a certainty that I would buy all the content anyways...I'm such a whore for battlefield...

At least I didn't buy premium for Hardline...but I did play that game way more than I care to admit.

I agree actually, I played around 60 hours of BF1 on release before I got bored. I came back to the game just a week ago and now I love the game again, mostly because its my favorite game to relax with and not become salty on like with overwatch lol.

Also, the difference in available servers for East Coast USA and Sweden might be pretty big.

Yeah. Ubisoft is desperate to raise money right now, though, to fend off a hostile takeover by Vivendi by buying back as many Ubisoft shares as they can. I'm guessing that's partly the motivation behind many recent Ubi marketing moves, such as putting up Far Cry 5 for preorder 9 months ahead of the game's release, why they're releasing TrackMania 2 Lagoon (which is a re-release of TM Turbo's environment, but for TM2, an older product), and why Origins is up for preorder already, and with so many progressively-pricier options.
