Friend's iPhone having a few problems

For some reason, my friend's iphone has decided it doesn't want to turn on (stuck on the boot screen). She plugged it in to her laptop and had to update itunes, and now itunes says it won't connect because her phone is locked. Her phone is locked because she can't turn it back on. She can't turn it back on without using itunes. itunes won't connect because it's locked.

See the problem here?

I never use iphones or apple products so I'm pretty much clueless but I'm also her most techy friend, so if anyone has any ideas as to a workaround or something, it'd be much appreciated.

It's an iphone 6s and it's running the latest version of iOS

Google putting the phone into recovery mode, than plug into laptop and do a restore. It'll redo the software on the phone, that should fix it.

make sure the phone is showing the itunes logo on it, The vital part is the phone must be in recovery mode. its not a mode you flick into once its on. its something you do when you are turning it on.

ok, she needs to start again.

Unplug the phone.

turn it off.

Google the steps to putting the phone into recovery mode ( You have to hold down buttons and stuff)

Once it is in recovery mode it will show a itunes logo on the screen (It must still not be plugged in at this point)

Once you have that, now you can plug it in.

Itunes will say it has deteced a iphone in recovery mode, would you like to restore it

let itunes do its thing and don't touch the phone or laptop. Make her stand 3m away from the computer to be safe.

once its done her phone should be working again.

There are tons of videos on this on youtube she can also watch.

The phone isn't turning off which means it can't go into recovery mode. It's stuck on the boot screen

Yeah sorry if it sounds a little annoying, she's not really technical and if I don't have it infront of me I get a little annoyed because I have to explain everything.

She did the power trick and it's now being recognised by itunes. Gonna try the rest
