X99 Code AE, can't boot

MVPernula

Wassup everyone!

So for quite some time now after cold boots my PC just wont start at all.

I can enter BIOS without any issues at all, but that's it. I get the Windows 10 logo but it just stays there showing the AE code on my motherboard.

As far as I've checked I assumed it to be RAM, since I had some bluesceens leading up to that. I bought new RAM just for the sake of this so I can assure you that RAM isn't the problem.

Others said it was a somthing plugged in as USB messing with me, but even if I plug out everything (even mouse and keyboard) this keeps happening.

Windows reinstalled 3 times on different drives, with different cables.

What can I do?

Asus x99-s

Corsair Vengeance LED 2x8

GTX 1080

"AE" apparently is a UEFI code meaning "Legacy Boot Event".

code "AE" shows up when the BIOS is showing "Cannot find boot device"

What is the boot order of your motherboard?

Boot order has my OS SSD on top.

Try this:

Unplug all your drives except your system disk,

make sure your system disk is your only boot device,

and make sure the only things plugged into your computer is a mouse, keyboard.

tell me what happens then

( under some motherboards, there is a thing called legacy mode. If yours has that setting, try it with it disabled and enabled.)
