So I installed the Corsair h100i v2. I have the pump plugged into the AIO header on my motherboard and one of the radiator fans plugged into cpu fan. I have the other radiator fan plugged into the y splitter coming off the pump. This was the only way I could actually get control of anything via corsair link software. Is this an ok way to be setup?

so I suppose since you have one fan connected to the pump and one to the motherboard they will soon at different speeds. since one is controlled by CPU temps  (motherboard) and one by water temps (pump)

presumably the reason why you connected that fan to the CPU fan header is because it wouldn't boot otherwise. consider ignoring th4 CPU temperature monitor and connect the 2 fans to the pump. or connect the pump to the CPU fan header (set the header to dc mode and at constant 100%) and then have the 2 fans connected to the pump

I have the same cooler. I don't use the Link software because of odd (false) temp fluctuation readings, and for some reason it didn't follow my profile set up one day, which caused my CPU to overheat and throttle. I'm not sure splitting the fans like that is a good idea, but I couldn't find a schematic on the pump, so I'm not sure what happens to the fan Y cable connected to the pump. I think in your case I might purchase a fan Y splitter cable (they're cheap) and hook them to the CPU header, just to make sure they're in sync, and following the same profile. I have my pump connected to the pump header because I want it to have it's own profile where it runs at max rpm at all times, but others would argue against that.

Best Excuses:

#1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

#2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

How do you have your fans connected?

My mobo has a CPU header, and a CPU optional header. Testing convinced me this is actually just an internal Y splitter, so I have one connected to each header. I'm using the mobo fan controller, which does not have an extra profile set up for the optional header (as I said, I think it's just an internal Y connector) so I set up a profile for the CPU header fan. Both fans follow that profile, and are in perfect sync. If you use the pump splitter, and hook the pump to the CPU header, you won't be able to set up a different profile for the pump than the fans. I like my pump to run a max rpm at all times, but not my fans.

Sorry, that's redundant info. I'm tired, lol.

What profile do you have your fans set at? Or did you create a custom loop?

I don't care about fan noise as I usually wear headphones, so I have a fairly aggressive custom profile set up. I rarely use preset ones. When the CPU gets to about 55c my fans are at max rpm. I can't give you an exact profile as that rig is still packed away. I just moved, and had spinal surgery, so I'm unable to unpack most of my stuff yet. Too heavy. Believe me, it's a very annoying situation, lol.

Man this corsair pump and software has been a pain in the ass. I haven't been impressed.

Yep. I would ditch the software, it's really wonky. The unit itself has worked really well so far though. Keeps my CPU nice and cool.

For me it was quite excellent. can you perhaps just add mo4e details:

motherboard model

bios version

most current asus bios 0906 I think. Mad MOdder did you just unplug the usb cable since you arent using the software? The fan splitter cant be removed rigth?

No, I left mine plugged in because I wasn't sure if they would fix the software in a future update. Also shortly afterwards I was in a bad motorcycle wreck which brought funtime to a close, for now.

I think the fan splitter cable is hardwired, so no. Unless yours is different. I bought mine about 1 1/2 years ago.
