Hi guys, long time Linus fan. 1st time poster (unless you count the Razor laptop competition). So I have an Corsair AX1200 power supply which was overkill for my old build (got it for a very good price). I have a new build (pcparkpicker link ) and wasn't sure if I could reuse it since it wasn't on the QVL list and I don't want to burn my new PC. Does anyone know if it is compatible and if there are any issues with its use in the new build?

Also if it is reusable can anyone point me to some compatible white sleeved cables (type 1 which are hard to find) that can be purchased in Australia.

Thanks in advance.

I cannot think of any reason why it wouldn't be compatible. As long as the connectors are all there which they will be. It's probably not on some kind of list because it is like a 7 year old model.

As for sleeved cables, I'm guessing if you are asking about this that cablemod doesn't ship to australia?

Thanks for the reply @iPhantomMonkey. Its reassuring to know that someone else thinks its OK to keep my AX1200. I do trust this power supply very much. I've never pushed my current PC that much to warrant the AX1200 dying on me( i7 950 +  GTX580 now GTX970). Also I was asking about the cables as Cablemod (which are available in Australia btw) don't make cables compatible with the AX1200, only the AX1200i which uses Type 3 cables and not Type 1.

Ah, I found some sites that say they support the AX and the AXi series. One called Pexon Pcs and the other called beyond customs.

You'll have to investigate further ther verify that they will work, but I hope I helped to give you a place to look.

Cablemod does make the cables, its just further down on list not near any other ax power supply. I also have ax1200 and plan on grabbing cables

@rockon5622 thank you. :)
@littlenick27 as he mentioned previously, just visit our configurator page and you can find compatibility. Use "PSU Cables" to keep things cheaper, or "Custom PSU Cables" if you want to go all out. About two-thirds of the way down the PSU Model listings you'll find the AX1200 though.
