Massive Bottleneck

I have an alienware 13 with a GTX 1060, 8gb RAM (will probably upgrade to 16 in the future) and an intel i5 6300HQ @ 2.3ghz. When playing GTA 5 all CPU cores are at 100% but the GPU is only at 30%. Is there a way to fix this or will I have to learn to live with this?

Mother Board: MSI z690 carbon WiFi

RAM: Corsair DDR5 6400MT/S

Storage: 2TB Samsung 970 Plus NVMe, 240 SanDisk SSD Plus, Crucial MX300 750GB SSD

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3090Ti FE

Case: Phanteks NV5

PSU: Corsair RM1000X

OS: Windows 11 Home

Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU 27" 1440p @ 165hz

Keyboard: Razer Black Widow Chroma

Mouse: Logitech G502

Sound: Sony MDR 1000x Headphones, Blue Snowball Microphone

 

Laptop Specs:

Gigabyte Aorus 15G

CPU: Intel i7 10875H

RAM: 16gb DDR4

Storage: 512gb NVMe, 1TB Crucial MX300 SATA SSD

GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q

is v sync off?

I think. I disabled it in the global settings in Nvidia control panel. Not sure if it is disabled in GTA though. I will check that now.

If V-sync is off, then yes, you have to live with it.

I was just going to check Nvidia control panel but when i right clicked on the desktop, there was no option to go to it. Just the intel settings

Try the in game settings 1st.

It was turned on in the game setting. I disabled it and it is now loading the game. Ill report back after a few minutes of playing.

GTA V is like that, lots of cpu stuff going on there, and mobile cpu's arent really happy with that.

 

just standing outside of franklin's house my 4790k (4GHz) often pokes past 50% usage. be happy alienware stuck a quadcore in said system :P

@astrosheen @VolkA @manikyath I disabled vsync but no difference. If anything it is worst as the buildings keep disappearing more often than they did with vsync on. Thanks for the help anyway!
