What will the graphics card market look like in six months?

Echo_Chaser

So right now it looks like to me that the Geforce 1080 is the best value for performing when it comes to gaming and that the Geforce 1050ti is the best graphics card if your on a budget. Do you guys expect that to change over the next six months? I mean it's going to change, but how and why?

Personally I cant make a prediction as I am not that well educated on the PC parts market as you guys, so I don't know if there might be some sort of new card launch coming that will be lowering prices or shifting things up heavily.

its going to change.

How: by releasing a new lineup. that change probably bad for everything currently released as it becomes worth less.
Why: because company's want profit so they make things we want to buy.

Volta

Fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the tech community World. Chief among them are Apple fanboys.

Volta

I'm guessing Volta will be in March 2018. Which is 9 months from now. If they don't release a Pascal 2.0 first. Reportedly they have some issues with Volta.

I (hope) think that the mining craze will wear off a little which well help let the demand gain some traction on the supply, thus lowering prices. The arrival of Vega will also help with the pricing as competition will increase and stock will grow to some extend (for GPU's in overall). Might be we won't see the price drops after the holidays though, because holidays.

The arrival of new Intel CPU's (coffeelake) could rise the demand for new GPU's but I don't think that's the case.

It'll look the same it does now but Pascal will be Maxwell, Maxwell will be Kepler and brand new cards will be Volta.

AMD will be on shortage due to miners if the bubble hasn't pop up yet.

Don't mind it, that was a rumor that end up dead, there will be no such thing as Pascal 2.0, next line up is the Volta architecture already.

I'm confused, are we likely to see Volta in the fall or closer to 9 months?

Mining cards rolling out slower than people posting here months too late asking about mining.

"Pascal 2.0" or how people are calling it, is Nvidia adopting the same "tick tock" way like Intel has done for quite some years now. Cant find sources atm (not at my computer) but i saw some articles that stated that "Nvidia has some problems with consumer Volta cards and will bring out a beefier Pascal card in 2018 and Volta pushed back to 2019."

I have no clue how legitimate it is, but seemed to be just as believable as other rumors.
