Need Help :(

First time that I build a new computer. I have installed windows on my ssd but faced problems so I had to reinstall it on my harddrive instead. The current problem I am facing is that it does not identifies my internet connection. I have tried everything form restarting my router to checking to see if the cables are alright. I even assigned my computer a static Ip address but so far nothing has worked :(.

1st - You should really have Windows installed on your SSD, else, your SSD is pretty much useless. What was the problem that triggered the reinstall?

 

2nd - What do you mean by "it does not identifies my internet connection"? 

 

- do you have a network connection?

- do you have a valid IP?

- can you see your PC from the router's side?

Are you using an ethernet cable or a wifi card?

Using Ethernet cable

cmd prompt as admin

netsh

winsock

reset

restart computer

 

plus the internet super screwy right now depending where you live

also try full reset on modem/router(hold reset button for 30seconds)

but have your isp account name and password ready to input into modem after reset

Did you check the cable to see if its bad? try another one. also maybe your port on your MOBO is bad.
