What's your budget?

If your going for gaming, Intel has the edge, since majority of games are geared towards intel systems currently.

If your doing any design, editing, content creation, then Ryzen is a go to, for the extra cores.

Also country your buying parts in.

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8gb) DDR4 - 2400; SSD Storage: 1TB Samsung 850 EVO; Storage: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm;

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8gb G1 Gaming; Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black; PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W 80+ Gold, OS: Windows 10 Home

I'd go with ryzen the extra cores are going to be helpful

Extra cores only really help w/ content creation, editing and design, since a quad core or dual core HT are perfectly fine for gaming.

would be helpful to see these builds in a pcpartpicker link so we can see full pricing and availability (especially with 1070 prices getting so out of hand right now). it would also help to know your budget and the other components involved (especially the monitor). you may be able to pull funds from other less important areas in order to increase performance. as far as which of the two you should take for gaming? probably doesn't matter much as they're both going to be limited by your 60hz monitor (assuming that is what you're using). I would probably say go Ryzen though as it has hyper threading and supports overclocking, not to mention there is a good upgrade path there and you'll likely never have the budget the reach a 7700k upgrade path.

I would go for the Ryzen build.

You listed no CPU cooler here. Are you going to use the stock heatsink?

Ryzen has the better stock cooler than Intel at this time.

Coolers don't really matter when you can't OC. Only thing it would affect is turbo and asthetics, which a stock intel cooler can do fine.

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

Why so?

Gaming performance, Intel is still king.

Few questions:

Can I OC the 7500

Is the motherboard fit for OC and upgrading

No, and No.

Intel CPU's with K's and X's can OC.

Z270 or X299 or X99 boards OC, the rest can't.

Will this CPU be enough for games like ANTHEM?

Both CPU's will be fine, since it will be more GPU for most games then CPU.

Very true, but I imagine OP is a new person to PC Building, so OC might be something of a future goal, but it is a nice feature to have. Haven't bothered OC'ing my rig personally, because my CPU barely get's stressed.

Can someone maybe suggest a better gpu for around the same price and the MSI 1070 Gaming X?

Now, most likely not.

GPU's are crazy high due to miners, so good luck finding a reasonably priced 1060, 1070, 1080, 1080ti, etc. IDK which AMD cards are being used by miners though, seems 1050ti and rx580's are normally priced currently.

Thank you. Guess ill just go for the Intel one as linus suggested in the 1000$ PC build. Thank you guys so much!

Anthem runs on the Frostbite engine... the same engine from BF1... that engine is capable of leveraging additional cores power beyond the traditional 4... hyperthreading would be an advantage here... but honestly you should really stretch that budget and get an R5 1600... this is why i specifically asked for a full parts list. could trim the fat out of your build and get you more performance.

The R5 1600 would be much better then the i5 7500?

The R5 1600X is the same price as the intel i5 7500 in my country, should i go for it?

much. it wouldn't affect fps all that much in some games, and then in others there could very well be a night an day difference if you have the GPU power to leverage the difference. anthem would be one of those games which should see a pretty massive difference, since you specifically mentioned it.
