Hey guys,

I want to buy a PC for 4K resolution. This was the build I came up with. I really appreciate water cooling, overclocking and also a really fancy computer. I don't  know about graphics card if I should buy Asus strix and get an outside watercooling (don't even know if this is possible). I really love the tubes with color :D . I also worried about the noise with the fans that's why I choose the Asus poseidon besides for temp and the overcloking.

1. Budget & Location

My location is Portugal. Budget around what I've showed in the build he can go a little more because I'm a PC enthusiastic and a hardcore gamer!!

2. Aim

Gaming GTA V, The witcher 3, Killing floor 2, Far Cry, Crysis, The division, etc...

3. Monitors

i have one 4K monitor but I'm planning in the future one ASUS the PG35VQ or PG27UQ .

5. Why are you upgrading?

I don't have any PC for gaming. Only a laptop from work and I play dota 2 with all low settings for 60 fps :(

Sorry for the bad english. I appreciate all help.

Cheers from Portugal.

no need for 8 core, you could go for a 1700 if you really wanted 8 core.

minimal benefits going 960 pro over 850 evo (for windows)

overclocking pascal is shit because nvidia locked BIOS so you cant edit voltages (which only go upto 1.04v on my 1070)

wait for v e g a and volta.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Keep in mind that your PCpartpicker link has US retailers. Importing parts from US can be very expensive.

As far as your usage is concerned, X299 is a waste of money if you're only going to be gaming.

I did a PCpartpicker config for retailers out of Spain, which is the closest I could get for you.

Id stay away from the 7820x and get a i7 7700x or a r7 1700 instead.

PSU is overkill, you might aswell get a 550w or 650w.

Id get a bigger hdd, there faster, don't cost much more, and you can fill 1tb fairly fast.

  1. You will be good with a i7 7700k, for gaming its more than enough.
  2. Too much spending on the RAM. No game benefits from 32GB, 16GB plenty.
  3. PCIE SSDs aren't very helpful if you don't transfer large files, get a SATA one and save up pretty much half the price and you still get a plenty fast SSD.

Put the money elsewhere, get another 1080Ti or a better monitor.

First of all thanks everyone. Yeah maybe you guys have right to much for gaming.

I took @Phentos build and make a little changes and I will explain why the video card so I can take advantage of the RGB aura, I also removed the SSD because I already own an samsung 960 pro 500GB (I will use him for SO/gaming and the other will be for media storage, etc.), I reduced the PSU because it was unavailable the other. The HDD I think blue is cheaper and less noisy, I just checked some youtube videos about black noise and it seems a pain to my ears.

I don't want to wait more I already waited and it's always coming better hardware, it's kind of a loop. I really need a pc for gaming, I don't want to rely in my work laptop anymore.

Thanks everyone.

This build should be able to handle 4K at 60+ FPS easily in pretty much ever game out, other than the unoptimized garbage that Ubisoft puts out.
