Can I use windows 10 licence from old PC on new build?

Hi everyone

 

I'm building a new pc for my parents. Will I be able to use the windows 10 licence from their old PC or will I have to buy a new one. The old pc was windows 7 but was upgraded to 10 when it was free.

Was old build prebuild? Is key tied to Windows account?

 

In any case you should just check if it works. You can use full feature OS for 30 days and limited features about forever. Plus enter working key at any point.
