New GPU isn't being detected

Hey everyone,

 

I've just installed a GTX 1080 Ti into my computer and for some reason it isn't being detected by GeForce Experience or Windows, preventing me from launching GeForce Experience because it "requires an Nvidia GPU".

 

Any help is appreciated!

Did you DDU after you installed the new card and only then reinstalled Geforce Experience fresh new? Besides don't let Geforce Experience automatically update drivers for you, whenever you'll change the driver you should DDU to ensure peak performance.

Should I download the drivers direct from Nvidia's website?

Do you know how to DDU to begin with? First you DDU then Microsoft Basic Driver will kick in, then all you have to do is reinstall Geforce Experience and let it install the new driver for you, you just don't "update it" afterwards.

Go to that website and download it then do as following:

 

 

Once you're done the Microsoft Basic Drivers will kick in, you can confirm it by using dxdiag.exe display tab, then all you have to do literally is reinstall Geforce Experience (it'll be deleted after DDU) and let it download and install the latest driver for you.

Download the program from guru3d that Princess Cadence linked, run it, and uninstall all your display drivers with it. Then reboot, and Microsoft's universal basic display driver will take over. Then, download the right drivers from NVidia's site, install them, and reboot.

Uninstall GeForce Experience, do the DDU thing, check for any NVidia software left on your PC and uninstall it, then reboot. Microsoft drivers should kick in. Then, use Windows Update to search for the right graphics drivers. It might sound dumb, but it works a lot of the time. If that doesn't work, download directly from NVidia's website, don't use GeForce experience for drivers. You can reinstall it once you have the drivers, though.

After doing the DDU in Safe mode? well there can be 3 things, your didn't connect the PCI-e power connectors properly, you didn't sit the card on the PCI-e slot properly or the card is simply dead and you should RMA it.

Card could be seated wrong, yeah. Take it out, boot without it, shutdown, put it back in and make sure it's seated right, then boot again.

Oh, was it the DDU instructions? I started writing that before I completely read your comment, then went back to edit to say to use your link. My apologies, wasn't meaning to content farm.

Could you take photos of it? DDU should have solved the issue, did you DDU in safe mode and all? Also are your monitor wired to the GPU or iGPU? take photos of every thing, the more information we have the better.

I DDUd in Safe Mode and the monitor is weired to the iGPU. I'm also getting this error code for the device;

Okay so DDU as you said but try connecting the monitor straight to the GPU this time and see if it feeds any video.

Try searching for new Windows Updates. Generally Windows can locate drivers for your hardware online for you, and install them through Windows Update.

did you hook the psu cable directly into the gpu?

 

I got a mate that went through 3 "DoA" motherboards and didn't realize he forgot to plug in the cpu connector
