should i buy a aio liquid cooled gpu like the evga 1070 hybrid or should i make my own loop which will include the cpu in a 240 rad from ek.

i will be using a r5 1600 with a gtx 1070. both cpu and gpu will be oc'd

basically:

  • evga 1070 hybrid(120 radiator) + aio cpu (120 rad)
  • or custom soft tubing loop which will have the cpu in the same loop(240 radiator)

Do you have $500+ for a custom loop and all the experience necessary to build it without it leaking in your system and killing all your components?

I like custom loops. I don't like custom loop prices. So I have a AIO.

If you want a custom loop you should build the whole thing, not just get a cheap kit.

You don't want to buy all the parts from a single brand because there are other brands that are better for certain parts.

If you knew more about water cooling, you would know what the best parts are for long lifetime and least chance of leaks, and no EK isn't perfect.

Unless you're willing to put in the time to research and learn about everything, and spend about $500 or more for the best quality parts, I would not recommend doing a custom loop.

so you are saying that i should get the hybrid card right?

That would be the easy option.

It's up to you if you want to learn about water cooling and save up a bit more money to do it.

that was what i was thinking. right now i was gonna buy a card. and maybe down the line water cool it so i can get more performance when it starts to get a bit old. buy then i could learn about water cooling

The only good things from koolance are their quick disconnects...

Bad idea. Down the line get a new GPU and maybe overclock the CPU. Unless you want to take your hardware to the edge just because you can don't do a full system cooling loop. It's just not worth it

I'm not trolling but I can go away. That's fine by me.

It's been a a few years since I did a custom loop but Koolance was second to none. Not a single system I did with Koolance has ever failed. But times and companies change, so if you know something I don't other then over priced I'd love to hear your experience with them.

Nothing serious, just the occasional fitting leak and radiators that have more gunk in them than usual.

Their D5 pump is as good as any other brand's D5, since they're all practically the same.

Bitspower is still better for fittings, and several other brands better for radiators.

A lot has happened over the years. I would defiantly go with different fittings now. Rad too just for cost.
