media software?

hey guys I'm about to finish up my first ever pc build and in the past I've always used I tunes for all my music, I use apple phones so it convenient for uploading music but with recent updates I don't like the interface as much as I used to. what are some recommendations for other media apps to store and listen to music? any suggestions are appreciated. I've used Spotify in the past but don't want a paid subscription either. just somewhere to buy albums and tracks digitally and store copies of my physical media too.

I'll personally stick to iTunes. Much more elegant and useful for me. (especially on MacOS)

foobar2000 is the way to go if you want a custom music player. It also plays every audio format.
