7970 Drivers Won't Install

Hey forum I'm kinda new here and wanted to run something by you guys. So I have an Asus DCUII 7970 and somehow it was working just fine on the operating system from my laptop which had an nvidia 555m. Then the other day I was having trouble launching NFS Shift(I know old game but I love it) and I thought it was the drivers for my 7970. So I got rid of everything nvidia and downloaded the latest catalyst package and their auto detect thing, but when I try to run ASUS GPU Tweak it says that I need to install a vga driver and whenever I try to full screen youtube videos it just goes like a little bit bigger than large view. At this point I am just clueless on what is going on and how to fix. All feedback is appreciated.

Boot into safe mode,

 

Run this software: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html

 

run it once for AMD and once for Nvidia.

 

Then install your new drivers.

Reinstall Windows.

Your windows is causing the problem... This has to do something with Optimus and this happens on laptops only and since you moved this windows from laptop then you should reinstall the windows...

Like a completely new OS? Sorry kind of a noob on the software side of things.

Yeah you need to reinstall the OS. You need an instalation of windows... You can download it on internet but you will need to buy an activation key but if you arent using that laptop there should be a key un the laptop... (OR you can pirate the key(I use it personally and havent encountered any problems))

Oh that kind of sucks the OS on my laptop got messed up too so I reinstalled and now I have to again.

I googled reinstalling windows and on the microsoft website there are instructions on how to reinstall without purchasing another copy. Will this work?

If you are using the product key on the laptop that came with laptop then you cant use it on your desktop PC because you can use one product key only on one PC... Either you need to buy another copy of windows or just pirate it...
