Ummmm. Dat's wat I m thinking about. However, we have no idea when Volta will be there isn't it? Then could u plz tell me how about vega? Cuz this one is gonna coming soon. I did a lot serching but tbh I don't get alot info about it especially about the single card performace.

I don't know more than you. the only thing I know is that the consumer cards should come soonish in august.

Thx for the video link. I dont even know about it before lol

and honestly i knew the problem, but i never had any issues with it. The power of the gpu was too low to drive the vram to the max due to settings.

i mean, for 1440p, the 970 will show it's age. Volta probably will arrive in the last quarter 2017/first quarter 2018 based on the releases they did in the past, and i honestly would wait for that if you don't have a really strong desire to upgrade

I m using EvgaGTX 970 but looking for upgrade this card. I would like to know is it an good idea upgrade this card to 1080 or 1080ti? Will it make big different? Should I wait for vege?

My friend suggest me wait for volta instead of upgrade for now. I m not sure will it be an better idea.

I will also change my monitor to asus279 q (1440p 144hz) and using 7700k intel cpu

thx

The 970 is still on par with the 1060, maybe a little bit slower

Will you gain something with a 1080(ti)? Yes

Will you get the same performance for less money than a 1080(ti) with Volta? Very likely

970s have vram issue built in. Linus himself will explain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPlCIUh_Tp0

Still it depends on you. If you are impatient go ahead you'll love the upgrade. If your patient wait until it runs out then get whats available. I have a 980 SC and I want a 1080, but is it worth it to me? No its not. I have a 1080p at 60Hz TV as a monitor. My 980 plays everything I want to play on this setup. When I get a 4k or better monitor I'll worry about it then. You really can't go wrong by waiting though. Still all about your particular situation. Sorry if I wasn't any help.

From a 970 to a 1080 or 1080 ti is a very solid upgrade but like your friend suggest its better to wait for volta because the 970 can handle it for now.

When volta is released that top thier card (probally 1180) will be just as expensive as the 1080 now is.

From a gtx 970 I would upgrade to either something like a 1070 or above. What is your budget?
