Laptop Cooling

So i have an ASUS K501U and it was really nice when i bought it but now it heats so freaking much it is absurd. The specs are an i7-6500U, NVIDIA GTX950M, 8GB ddr3L 1633MHZ (not sure) and 1TB 7200rpm hard drive. When im on idle my laptop is chilled (around 50ºC CPU), but when i go gaming it reaches 70-80ºC and this is weird because i have a laptop cooling stand from cooler master (ergostand 3) and even when i Incline it the temps dont lower they just stay the same. The computer has 1 year. Do you think it has gathered a lot of dust inside? I really want to open and see but im afraid to void the warranty if I do it you know. If you can give me any more tips on how to keep my laptop cool please do it.

Laptop coolers don't do shit, they are a waste of money for the little performance they have. I would recommend keeping ventilation easy accessible for air to access.

70-80 C sounds pretty normal for a laptop that's gaming

 

But you can always open it, clean it, replace the thermal compound, and see what happens.

That's normal for a laptop, my laptop idles at 45c and gaming 60-70c

My MacBook does the same under light load. (safari, mail, iTunes)

Mine reaches 85-90 when im extreme gaming and i experience lots of FPS Drops. And i live in a hot weather and i dont have an AC. Idk how to keep my house temps cool besides fans

By the way could u give me a good software to check CPU and GPU Temps. My software just says HDD and CPU Temps

Then the best you can do is just replace the thermal compound with Artic MX-4, Noctua stuff, or Cryorig stuff. At least without getting AC.

Or just take off the bottom and tape a 200mm fan
