I've recently began compiling and editing photos and videos.  My custom build has about 3TB of total storage.  I have about 800gb of pictures and videos from an external drive, that I want to have backed up on my PC.  I was going to install a new HDD to work with these files but I wasn't sure which type of drive to go with.  I was looking into the 4TB blue and black models offered from Western Digital.  Stupid question maybe, Do I need a performance drive to ensure smooth performance when editing my high quality videos with Premiere Pro, After effects, and Photoshop?  I have everything backed up on externals but I didn't want to work and edit with the files destination on the external drives, it would obviously create problems.  Any one experienced got some input?

They're both more or less the same and any HDD will not have very spectacular access times be it "performance" or not. The blues in my system take a little bit longer to load content vs the Firecuda hybrid in the 6700k rig (both PCs have an SSD boot drive) and the black is just a slightly faster blue with a better warranty.
