OC boot failure every time!

Hi all,

I've been having this problem for the past week now. I have a 4690k with a Gigabyte z97x sli motherboard, and have been re doing my overclock every day now. This is due to a boot failure I keep getting. When this happens, my pc won't output to my monitors until I turn it off and back on again. And when I do, I get a message saying there has been a boot failure and to load optimised defaults. I have had my CPU at 4.3ghz at 1.3 volts each time. I had this CPU overclocked for quite some time with no issues, but this has arisen over the past week. 

 

What is the reason for this? And any method of fixing this problem will be very much appreciated,

Will it boot and stay stable if you stick to stock settings?

 

I'm actually interested in the BCLK. If it is a K processor why would you touch that? Isn't it better to just tweak the multiplier? I might be missing something here, just curious.

Yes it boots with no issues at all on stock settings. I have not touched the BCLK, just the voltage, multiplier, XMP and cache voltage. My memory is meant to be 2400mhz, so I don't know why it gets lowered...

What's your voltage setting? You can add to about 1.4V maximum for stability.

I believe stock voltage is around 1.18. I put the multiplier up by 1 setting, so 35 to 36 just to see if it would do it again. With completely stock other settings, I still got the failure. But at 1.3V at 4.3ghz, the system is pretty stable, until I shutdown and then reboot the next day to be met with the failure.
