Just build one yourself, cheaper and makes it easy to upgrade again in a few years (At least you will know what to do and have the self confidence).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Eh not really true, upgrading is easilrnthen getti g a whole rig build.

Putting in a gpu and ram and could is like Legos.

Finding where all the onbord connectoers go can be a pain exspeciaky when your mobo manual is wrong.

You should be able to watch a youtbe video and know exactly how to do it

You should ALWAYS build a custom PC yourself, especially here.  $650 is already a low price for a custom PC with low profit margins, take a prebuilt and that is a really low, unbearable price.  Plus, it's nice to have a PC you built ourself compared to one assembled by robots or minimum-wage workers in a dark factory.

To be honest though, for a prebuilt at this price point, that PC is actually pretty decent.....

With an outdated CPU and fairly weak GPU

I dont see any other option then, buy the pre-built then if you must. It would be good if you can try to convince his farther that its for his sons benefit, but I dont know your family situation (you could direct him to this thread to show that others agree at least).
