GPU artifacting while mining?

So my GPU gets slight artifacting (I've only seen it twice, black boxes going diagonal across the screen for a second) while mining but not while gaming, is this normal? Nothing is overclocked and it doesn't happen a lot.

Could be normal if the GPU is using all of its core and memory clocks for mining whereas gaming tends to put a variable load that can be compensated for.
